No School: Holiday Recess

From The PTA

Teacher Appreciation Item Donations Needed Before Dec 15
As part of teacher appreciation, the school is looking for a handful of items that can be ‘raffled’ off among the teachers on Dec 15, adding a little excitement and appreciation to their holiday party. Items don’t have to be expensive. If you have something you’d like to offer, drop it off at the front desk or email Diana Kunze <diana.kunze@sesd.org>.

Walk-a-thon Needs a Few Volunteers ASAP

Walkathon may seem far away, but there are things to do now (yes, now!) and we need a few volunteers to help. If you have any amount of time at any time of the day or week, please reach out to wata@cherrychasepta.org or volunteercoordinator@cherrychasepta.org.

Take Advantage of Companies Allowing Employee Directed Donations

Many employers such as Google ($400!) are offering donations for each employee to whichever organization an employee designates. Please consider telling your employer to direct their donation to Cherry Chase.

ABC Reading volunteers needed

This year Project Cornerstone ABC volunteers will be reading the monthly ABC books outdoors in the Cherry Chase garden. ABC readers through books interact and build relationships with students empowering them with life skills such as planning, goal setting, building friendships, responding to bully behavior and peaceful conflict resolution. We are still looking for volunteer readers in a few more classrooms, especially in the fifth grade. If you would like to be an ABC reader in your child’s classroom please sign up using https://forms.gle/AEL6T6dDjhfSmekp7

5th Grade Legacy Project Tiles Are Up

The tiles from the last two years have been mounted on campus, next to the playground by the Multi. Come see them and if you know graduated families, suggest they check the tiles out off hours.

Need a Donation Receipt?

Did you donate this year and want to keep a record for tax purposes? Did you know that donors to Cherry Chase PTA can use our self service form? It’s easy and you can do it yourself. https://www.cherrychasepta.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/cherry-chase-pta-donation-receipt-v2021.pdf

Anti-Bias Education for Families: How to Create Brave Spaces at Home

The Cherry Chase PTA would like to share a unique parent education opportunity with our families. On the evening of February 8, educator and author Britt Hawthorne will present Cherry Chase School families with a 90-minute online interactive workshop. Parents will be presented with tools to support an affirming and brave anti-bias environment for our children.
Space will be limited. We’ve extended the interest survey through December: https://forms.gle/f8LHZUjSr7Y45jbm8. If there is sufficient demand a second date could be added.
For more about Britt Hawthorne and her workshops, please see: https://britthawthorne.com/
