Virtual Lunar New Year Celebration is tomorrow
All families in the Cherry Chase community are warmly invited to join the 2022 Lunar New Year of the Tiger Celebration. This event will be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, February 11th, 5:00 – 5:30pm via ZOOM. Check the PTA website for the access link.

Walkathon and other events feel far away, but it currently takes several weeks to get cleared by the district for on campus volunteering.
What you need is :
- TB assessment or test <4 years old and
- Completed COVID vaccination with booster.

Walk-A-Thon & Auction Volunteers Meet and Greet (In-person)
Join the Walk-A-Thon team In-person,Saturday, 2/12, 2-3pm (time changed!) next to the room 1-2 playground for a ” Cherry Chase Walk-A-Thon & Auction Volunteers Meet and Greet”.
You can learn more about Walk-a-thon 2022 and also how you can make this a great event by helping us prepare for the event (positions range from ordering supplies to managing the day-of-event staff to helping us think through the logistics; we’ll ask for day-of-event staff later). Most roles are a few hours of preparation. We look forward to seeing you there!

And don’t forget, ONLY people who are officially cleared by the school to volunteer will be allowed on campus for the March 25 Walk-A-Thon.

Student shirt sizes are based on grade level. Students in grades K-1 will be given a Youth Small by default, while grades 2-3 get Youth Medium, and grades 4-5 get Youth Large.

Afterschool Programs back on site at Cherry Chase
PTA is very excited to bring Afterschool Programs’ back on site at Cherry Chase.
Please look at the attached schedule and be on the lookout for the eBlast on 2/17 for registration information!! Please note spots are limited and offered on a first come first serve. PTA is actively looking for volunteers and parents willing to be chairs to help out in the smooth running of these programs. Click here to view the flier.
Girls On The Run (GOTR)
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a social-emotional program for girls in 3rd-5th grade that creatively uses a fun curriculum and physical activity to teach critical life skills, such as developing healthy friendships, managing emotions, standing up for yourself and others, and how to set goals and make intentional decisions.
Coaches will lead small groups of girls through discussions and fun games and workouts to promote empowerment and healthy lifestyle choices, all while training them to run/walk a 5K (3.1 miles). The 8-week season starts the week of March 14 and ends with the celebratory Girls on the Run 5K on May 21. The classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays at Cherry Chase from 2:30pm to 4pm. The cost is $230 per girl and financial assistance is available to all families during the registration process.
