Student shirt sizes are based on grade level. Students in grades K-1 will be given a Youth Small by default, while grades 2-3 get Youth Medium, and grades 4-5 get Youth Large.

San Jose Chess Club ( https://www.sjchess.org ) is excited to restart in person Chess Club for all K-5 Cherry Chase students SOON!

There will be 6 classes during this Spring Session # 1 held on 03/4, 03/11, 03/18, 03/25, 4/1, 4/8.

To be able to maintain safe covid protocols , class sizes will be reduced . All students must be masked indoors during Chess Club.

There will be two classes offered at the following times.

Grades : K-3; Location: Multi

Friday : 1:00-2:00pm

Grades : 4-5; Location: Muti

Friday : 2:45-3:45pm

Why is Step by Step Drawing so unique ?

For the last 17 years the “Step by Step” technique has been a method that makes drawing easier to learn.

We begin by teaching step by step lessons which improve drawing and thus we gradually begin to introduce them to painting.

We teach our soccer players both technical and tactical skills.

Good soccer technique is having good ball and body control. Our players learn how to receive

the ball, control it and how to pass, shoot and defend correctly. We especially

focus on dribbling fast and changing direction and we teach advanced moves and fakes.

1pm to 2pm (K-3)

Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a social-emotional program for girls in 3rd-5th grade that creatively uses a fun curriculum and physical activity to teach critical life skills, such as developing healthy friendships, managing emotions, standing up for yourself and others, and how to set goals and make intentional decisions.

 Coaches will lead small groups of girls through discussions and fun games and workouts to promote empowerment and healthy lifestyle choices, all while training them to run/walk a 5K (3.1 miles). The 8-week season starts the week of March 14 and ends with the celebratory Girls on the Run 5K on May 21. The classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays at Cherry Chase from 2:30pm to 4pm. The cost is $230 per girl and financial assistance is available to all families during the registration process.
