The 6th annual Cherry Chase Lunar New Year will be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, February 11th, 5:00 –5:30pm via ZOOM. 2022 is the year of the Tiger which is a symbol of strength, bravery, and confidence.
We are gifting the “Lucky Tiger” mascot to everyone who would like to share a short video (10-30 seconds) of Lunar New Year greetings for the upcoming Cherry Chase celebration.
Just say “Happy Lunar New Year!” with your family and share your well wishes! Check PTA website for details on how to bring a “Lucky Tiger” home.

A dead fridge was making it hard for teachers to keep their lunches cool. Cherry Chase PTA’s teacher appreciation team was glad to step in and make sure our teachers can relax about their food and stay focused on teaching

Walkathon and other events feel far away, but it currently takes several weeks to get cleared by the district for on campus volunteering.
What you need is :
- TB assessment or test <4 years old and
- Completed COVID vaccination with booster.

Girls On The Run (GOTR)
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a social-emotional program for girls in 3rd-5th grade that creatively uses a fun curriculum and physical activity to teach critical life skills, such as developing healthy friendships, managing emotions, standing up for yourself and others, and how to set goals and make intentional decisions.
Coaches will lead small groups of girls through discussions and fun games and workouts to promote empowerment and healthy lifestyle choices, all while training them to run/walk a 5K (3.1 miles). The 8-week season starts the week of March 14 and ends with the celebratory Girls on the Run 5K on May 21. The classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays at Cherry Chase from 2:30pm to 4pm. The cost is $230 per girl and financial assistance is available to all families during the registration process. Walk-A-Thon will be in person this year
Cherry Chase’s 2022 Walk-A-Thon will be held in person on campus on Friday, March 25, but only Cherry Chase students and approved volunteers will be allowed on campus for the event. Go to https://permission.click/
For those wondering about the current situation, know that we have been keeping safety in mind with all planning so far. We’re watching how things are going, but for now we are still hoping for the best. More to come. Walk-A-Thon T-Shirt Design Contest
Thank you to more than 100 students who submitted an entry for this year’s Walk-A-Thon & Auction design contest. That is the most entries we can recall having in a long time. Way to go Chargers! The chosen design will be announced at Friday flag and shared in next week’s eblast.

t-shirt to wear for Walk-A-Thon events in March.
But grown ups and siblings, you can also show Charger Pride by purchasing a Walk-A-Thon shirt of your very own. Don’t miss out on this limited opportunity. Sales run through Friday, February 18.
Purchased shirts will be available for pickup March 24.
Student shirt sizes are based on grade level. Students in grades K-1 will be given a Youth Small by default, while grades 2-3 get Youth Medium, and grades 4-5 get Youth Large.
If your student would prefer a different size (bigger or smaller), you must fill out this change request form by February 9:
