Afterschool Programs
Our PTA is diligently working to bring Afterschool programs (ASPs) back to the school as soon as we can. We await permission from the Sunnyvale School District to operate on campus. In the meantime we will be working with our afterschool partners to bring enrichments back safely, adhering to all the new protocols that may be in place.

Stop the Crows Art Contest
Oh no! Crows are having feasts when students leave their lunches unattended!
The PTA is holding a sign design contest to help stop these crows’ messy parties. Can your student create a sign that helps protect their classmates’ lunches?
Adults – can you help with this art contest? We need volunteers to help select art and put up the signs! Email artcontest@cherrychasepta.org
Submissions must be flat and no larger than an 8.5 x 11 page. Physical drawings may be submitted to the box in the PTA nook (please write student name, grade, and teacher on the back). Or, digital submissions can be made here: https://forms.gle/
Multiple submissions accepted. Selected entries will be displayed on campus, and volunteers may move or replace signs as needed. Art will not be returned.
Submissions must be received by Nov. 29th
Coaches for Girls On The Run –
Spring 2022
Help empower the girls at Cherry Chase Elementary! We’re looking for Girls on the Run coaches for the Spring 2022 (March 14-May 22) season.
As a coach, you’ll lead a small team of girls from 3rd to 5th graders through social-emotional lessons on friendship, emotions, conflict-resolution, and community-building, all while training to complete a 5K at the end of the season.
You don’t need to be a runner/athlete nor have coaching experience. Coaches will receive discounted registration for their girl and a guaranteed spot on the team.

SAVE THE DATE – Diwali Celebration
Virtual Diwali Celebration on Nov 19th, 2021
The Diwali Team is personally inviting all of you to join and celebrate Diwali. They have put a lot of effort into bringing this to you and would appreciate your support by creating and sharing your Diwali videos and/or pictures.
Please register and submit your video and picture entries before this Friday, 11/12/21.
There will also be an in-person Diwali craft day that you can attend on Saturday, November 13, from 11 am-12 pm at the Cherry Chase Kinder area. Diwali craft supplies are limited and will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Garden Time this Saturday Morning
Little hands wanted to rip out little weeds! Come out to the main Cherry Chase garden on Saturday 11/13 from 10-noon and let the kids spend some happy time in the dirt.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Giving Tuesday Campaign Kick Off
As Thanksgiving is approaching, we want to kick off the season of Gratitude and Giving. We are so thankful for our parent community helping us stay together & committed, and giving to our great school during the pandemic. We would be honored if you can join us to celebrate the Cherry Chase Gives campaign ending on #GivingTuesday, November 30, 2021.
Donate any amount, $10, $20, $50, $150…We suggest donating $150 per student and joining the PTA to make sure your voice is heard.
With the campaign ending on #GivingTuesday, we will recognize and REWARD the classroom with the most participation during the month of November. All classrooms with 100% participation will WIN prizes. Your donation is spent at Cherry Chase and is 100% tax-deductible.
