Virtual Fall Book Fair Begins
(ONLINE through Oct. 1)
The Book Fair is not only your chance to find some great books, but it’s also a wonderful way to support Cherry Chase! It is a great opportunity to find a nice gift for your friends, family, your child’s teacher, or whoever else is on your gift list. Whether it is for the holidays, a birthday or another special occasion, books always make a great gift.
All profits are used to buy new books for our wonderful Cherry Chase library, AND you can also
support your child’s classroom library. Click on the link below for the virtual book fair.
Sunday Garden Time
The PTA Garden Team will be out again this Sunday morning – come and join us! We’ll be working and exploring in the butterfly garden, near the Cherry Chase library. We’ll have tools, gloves, and magnifying glasses to borrow, but you are always welcome to bring your own. As always, children must be accompanied by an adult, and please wear a mask.

Golden Shoe Competition starts 10/1
October 1 is the kickoff for Cherry Chase’s coveted Walk & Roll Golden Shoe Competition! The competition features both individual prizes and class prizes for kids that walk or roll to school. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
October 6 is International Walk (and Roll) to School Day so be sure to walk or roll to school!
8 to 8:08 is Great
Arriving at school between 8:00 and 8:08 helps reduce the last-minute rush and safety hazards that can occur during the last seven minutes before the second bell. Please try to drop off your children between 8:00 and 8:08 a.m. Want to know what the Dutch Reach is? See the attached flyer to find out and for more drop-off safety tips.

Inviting Parent Volunteers for ABC Readers
Project Cornerstone is looking to return back to Cherry Chase Elementary and we are inviting parent volunteers to join our ABC Program both in lead roles and as classroom readers. We will be reading 7 books this school year and will plan to begin in classrooms in October. Please sign up using https://forms.gle/
As soon as conditions allow, ABC volunteer readers will be considered specially “cleared” volunteers and will be allowed on campus to read in classrooms if they are vaccinated for COVID, wear a mask, complete the health screening on the day of the visit, and complete all of the district paperwork TB assessment or testing

2. Fall Festival – Scavenger hunt, contests and virtual puppet shows were a blast last October. Help plan this year’s fall fun. Contact Carolynne at fallfestival@cherrychasepta.
3. Development- 2-3 volunteers needed — great option for parents looking to make a difference outside of school time. Choose Cherry Chase’s restaurant night, or help us get the word out about Giving Tuesday and corporate matching. Contact Terri at development@cherrychasepta.org

Does Your Class Have a Room Parent?
Room Parents help teachers share timely requests and information with parents in their class. Room Parents can also coordinate teacher gifts and help request donations for class parties. The following classes do not yet have a room parent. If you are in one of these classes, email roomparent@cherrychasepta.org to offer your help.

FUN online cartoon drawing class,grades 1-5
The class focuses on cartoon drawings of popular characters through step by step
instructions and is a perfect fit for beginner and intermediate students.
