Walk-a-Thon Fundraising and Pledge Collection Guide

Together, the Walk-a-Thon and Auction are Cherry Chase’s biggest fundraising event of the year! The money we raise benefits our students by way of great school programs, experiences, and equipment. The pledges that students solicit make up over 60% of the total funds raised for the event each year! Our 2024 goal is to raise $75,000.

What is a pledge?

  • A pledge is a promise to support a specific participant’s efforts during a fundraising event. Walk-a-thon pledges often come in flat amounts ($X to be donated on behalf of a student by April 5th). Some families prefer to collect lap-based pledges, to challenge the participant to go as far as possible ($X per lap completed by Student, donated after the event but before the Friday, April 5th deadline for pledge money submission).

Help your student raise funds. Our goal this year is for each student to raise $150 or more!

  • Help your child reach out to friends and family for pledge donations, which can be set on a per-lap or lump sum basis. Have them ask for contributions in person, e-mail, or by phone. Please encourage them to ask only people that you and they both know. Top fundraisers will earn exciting prizes for their efforts!
  • We recommend you engage your child in setting a distance goal and a fundraising goal. We hope every student raises at least $15, to earn a class prize. Individual fundraising prizes kick in at $150 in donations collected.
  • Each student will receive the pledge packet from school. However, you can also download the pledge tracker HERE if you need to print extra pages.

Submit your pledge money by Friday, April 5th, 2024

  • DONATE PLEDGE MONEY through our new Pledge Site through 99 Pledges. 
  • SUBMIT CASH PLEDGES via the lockbox in the PTA nook (Cherry Chase Main Office).
  • THROUGH YOUR COMPANY PORTAL: Complete this form for the donation to be eligible for prizes.
  • CORPORATE EMPLOYER-MATCHED DONATIONS. Learn more about company matching.
    • We encourage you to obtain corporate matching funds from your company. However, by law, the amount of the match CANNOT be used towards any Pledge Rewards.

  • Donate from any device using Credit Cards, PayPal, Apple Pay & Google Pay
  • No registration or password required!
  • Your student’s personal profile page is already created and ready to use.

How You Can Make Pledges & Flat Donations Online:

  • By 2/16/2024, you will receive an email with a link to your student’s profile page and personalization info.
    • If you don’t see it, please check your spam folders (search for “99Pledges”) 
  • You do not need to register or change anything. Use the profile as-is or personalize it.
  • Make a per lap pledge or a flat donation for whatever amount you can.
  • Share your student’s page with friends & family.
  • Wait for the donations to start rolling in!

Find your Student’s Profile on the Fundraiser Main Page:

On the online fundraiser main page, use the “search for participant” box (search using first name).

Personalize Your Student’ Profile Page (Recommended but not required)

  • Your private “Personalization Link” is sent in the same email that has your student’s profile page info.
  • Personalized profiles create a deeper connection between your donors and the Walk-A-Thon cause.
  • Personalized profiles can significantly improve donor engagement. 
  • Personalization is quick, easy & fun.

Personalize these areas:

  • Personal letter: This is a message from your student to your donors. Add your student’s name and change the wording or completely rewrite your own letter.
  • Add student’s picture: Profiles with a picture are more relatable to the donors, and will likely attract more donations.
  • Individual $ Goal: Change your student’s fundraising goal $ amount.
  • Individual Lap # Goal: Change your student’s individual lap # goal.

Online Pledges and Donations Deadline:

All pledges and donations need to be in by April 5th, 2024 in order to be eligible for prizes.
