Our afterschool Drama program will undergo some big changes for the 2026-2027 school year. Due to high demand we will be opening a second session of Drama for 2nd and 3rd graders which will run from early fall until Thanksgiving break. There will still be another session as in previous years, open to 4th - 5th graders, which will run from the end of November until after Ski Week. Each session can accommodate 60 students. Enrollment, as in previous years, will be on a first-come first-served basis. 

The lower grades will be performing Dare to Dream Jr., a 60-minute musical revue that follows a group of new trainees at a fictionalized Disney Imagineering Studio. This exciting and unique production features songs appearing for the first time ever in a Disney stage musical, including fan-favorites from The Princess and the Frog, Coco, Encanto, and Frozen II, in a thrilling mix of contemporary songs, timeless classics, and brand-new medleys that are sure to surprise and delight Disney lovers of all ages. The upper grades will be performing The Lion King Jr., a modern classic coming-of-age tale featuring classic songs from the Broadway musical and animated feature film, including “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “He Lives in You,” and “Hakuna Matata.” Young performers will also get the chance to learn a wide range of new theatrical skills—such as mask-making and puppetry—encouraging them to explore this beloved story with creativity and pride. Kids will have the ultimate theater experience under the direction of Starting Arts staff, which include directors, choreographers, music instructors, costumers, lighting, sound and a full tech crew.
