SPARK
What is SPARK?
SPARK is Cherry Chase Elementary School’s parent-led visual arts program. The program follows a five year cycle, and is offered to Kindergarten through 5th grade students. Over the course of five years, students take an art-themed journey guided by curriculum and explore six fun lessons learning about and creating art. Each lesson introduces an art concept (like line, shape, or color) and highlights diverse artists and their engaging art.
Program Goals
Inspire student’s creativity and self-expression
Introduce students to diverse artists and cultures
Build confidence through hands-on projects
Foster appreciation for art in everyday life
Parent Volunteers
SPARK is run entirely by Cherry Chase parents. No art background is needed - just enthusiasm! Lesson guides and supplies are provided. Come to one of the training meetings (see below) or reach out to SPARK@cherrychasepta.org to get started.
